I've had this problem for years now. I notice that it frequently happens after I have put my laptop in standby mode.

I have a similar problem on my laptop e.g. when I click on the image at woot.com. I don't have this problem on my desktop. Firefox versions (2.0.0.9 are same on both. Most extensions are same as well, but not sure if all of them are identical.

It doesn't look like the issue is going to be fixed any time soon. However, at least for the banking issue, if you have pop-ups open in a new tab instead of a new window you should be able to get by okay.

The problem can be recreated by resizing an image (non-html), which was opened with _target="blank", and resizing to a smallest window.

I too have the same problem,and its kind of irritating when you are doing something important like banking and the popup window becomes unusable..!
